Astro navigation - understood in theory

Phew! It's taken a fair amount of study to finally crack what astro navigation is all about. I've now got the tools on board to actually try it out when I'm out on the open sea. I've written my own summary of how it all works to prove (to myself) that I do actually understand it, see my page on understanding astro navigation. It may be useful as a primer for others who find the whole thing mystifying - as I did.
