About this site

I have often contemplated some sort of significant sailing challenge. At least since I bought my small 25ft Beneteau First sailing yacht, Principia, in 2005. Perhaps participation on one of those round the world challenges in a big 60 footer. Or an Atlantic crossing. But more recently the idea of sailing around Britain has certain practical attractions...

So, this site records both the before, during and after activities of this venture.

That's me on the left proudly pointing to The Honeypot Children's Charity logo.

This is a simple site (using Google sites, bless them) and you're invited to explore the pages as per the menu on the left.

You get an idea of my small, modest boat up there at the top. More details in About the Boat.

Once I'm under way, you'll be able to track my progress in the See Where I Am page.

I've got a couple of blogs going and you can choose to receive emails on my posts.

Last, and most importantly, I want to raise money for The Honeypot Children's Charity. Please, please give generously. It will mean so much to me but nothing like as much as it will for these children! More details on my charity page. The more donated the more determined I'll be to finish the job.

This is not going to be easy. See a summary of my progress to see how the going really is!

I finalised my decision to do this on 14th February 2015 and plan to leave my home port (Burnham on Crouch) on the 18th April with a view to returning mid September.

I have completed my circumnavigation and all my posts are available to see by way of blogs, photos, videos as well as other updates like passage experiences.

I hope that this site will be of use to others considering a similar venture. In the mean time, feel free to get involved - start by subscribing to my blogs.

Please share the love ...
